House of Color was first established in 1971 by Donald Musillami and his father Salvatore Musillami. Though it began as a basement operation they quickly moved to a store front at 5530 S. La Grange Road in Countryside, IL. In 1980 they established a second location run by Don's brother Scott at 1017 E. 31st Street in La Grange Park , and a third location in 1986 in Lisle. In 1990 they purchased and rehabilitated the old Miller Amusement warehouse at 9912 W. 55th Street in Countryside IL, combining all three locations.

This is our current location, and is a 5000 sq foot facility with a full staff of employees. Scott continues to wait on customers, while Don focuses on intricate and specialty framing pieces behind the scenes. From the beginning we have been a family owned and operated business and we continue to stress the principals of hard work, ingenuity and togetherness.
